If you were a prosecutor and you have been told, "it's not official yet, but it's Hailey. Here is how we know..."
Would you consider not releasing the findings, and asking the various law enforcement departments to also withhold information?
Would you do this to let the pressure increase upon Shawn Adkins and Billie Dunn?
We don't know that these remains are Hailey's.
Not yet, at least.
I believe that Hailey's remains are in Scurry County because Shawn Adkins said so. He did so without qualifiers, and simply as a plain answer. I believe him, just as I believe most everything that he and Billie Jean Dunn have said. When he said, "I would never harm that little girl", I believe him. That he "would" not do so, in the future tense, just as he said, is likely true since she cannot be harmed. This is a principle in Statement Analysis: let the subject guide us.
Who should law enforcement be looking at, as suspects, in the disappearance of Hailey Dunn?
Shawn said, "the two of us", meaning, he and Billie Jean Dunn. I believe him.
I believe him when he named Scurry County, and I believe him when he was asked, "did you threaten Billie and Clint Dunn?" when he said, "yeah, and Hailey, too."
I believe him.
Imagine the fit Billie Jean threw at him after he came home and this information was released by police?
If you had the opportunity to withhold the public release of confirmation of the remains, so that you could watch Billie Jean Dunn and Shawn Adkins' reactions, would you do it?
I would.
If these are the remains of Hailey Dunns, we can know that Shawn Adkins knows the gig is up. I am not certain that Billie Jean knows. She may have told him, "Don't tell me exactly where, Shawn! Stop calling me! The cell phone is going to ping and give you away! Go finish..."
I also believe that Hailey is in several locations.
Why is this?
When one of Billie Dunn's asked Shawn how someone could kill such a little girl, for Shawn, it was like "killing a deer."
This comparison came form his own personal vocabulary and I believe that he compared it to Hailey, and like a deer, 'gutted' or dismembered her and likely distributed her remains, over a period of time, in order to conceal the sexual crime.
That this is a sexual crime was first spoken to the public by Hailey's own grandmother, appearing on the Nancy Grace Show. When said, it brought no shock from Billie Dunn, which, in fact, shocked Nancy Grace enough into asking Billie Dunn why she was not shocked. Billie Dunn said, "this is the first I'm hearing of it. Why didn't nobody tell me?" in her butchering of the English language. This was a mild deflection and caused Nancy Grace to make one of those faces she often makes when she hears a clearly deceptive response.
Behavioral analysis is in full gear as Billie Dunn and Shawn Adkins await news. There is a noteworthy increase in tension in Billie Jean Dunn's words. Her attorney said she would not be speaking to media the day before she spoke to media. She should have listened to him.
Each word spoken from them is important, and it is, to date, only Billie Jean who is speaking, giving clues to what she may or may not know about the remains in Scurry County.
Rest assured that both of them are being watched as we await news on the remains found in Scurry County.
