STETSON, Maine — A toddler was found dead in Stetson on Monday morning, and state police are investigating.
The body of 2-year-old Loh Grenda was found in her mother’s car around 3 a.m. Monday, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
The girl’s mother, Leanna Norris, 24, lives in Auburn but is formerly from Stetson, McCausland said.
Norris has been hospitalized at an undisclosed facility, McCausland said.
An autopsy on the toddler’s body has been conducted by the state medical examiner’s office, and McCausland said the results were not available Tuesday morning.
Detectives are interviewing friends, family and relatives in investigating the circumstances of the girl’s death.
